The veteran track

The veteran track Bryrup – Vrads is right next to the campsite. The charming vintage train runs on a section of the disused Horsens-Silkeborg railway line. Take the trip from Bryrup to Vrads and drive past Kvindsø, Kulsø and Snabe Igelsø. It is a beautiful trip of approx. 5 km.
Central Jutland Art Center

Come to Bryrup and experience the live exhibition at Galleri Habsø, which is Denmark's largest art centre. Galleriet Habsø is beautifully located in Bryrup, just 18 km from Silkeborg.
Denmark's largest gallery
Midtjylland's Art Center in Bryrup, close to Silkeborg, was established in 1998. It is the country's largest gallery and is an international art center. An impressive amount of works of art has been collected here, so you will not go here in vain.

Hjejlen

Go out on the Silkeborg Islands with the Hjejlen – the world's oldest original coal-fired paddle steamer in operation.
Enjoy getting out on the Silkeborg Islands with Hjejlen. In the summer, Hjejlen and the other tour boats in the Hjejle fleet sail daily from Silkeborg to Himmelbjerget and on to the small station town of Laven.
Himmelbjerget

When you visit the heart of Jutland and the Silkeborg area, you just have to pass Himmelbjerget – one of Denmark's highest points.
Come and see how Himmelbjerget with its 147 meters rises up in the landscape. It can be seen from afar from both land and water. You can get there by car, bicycle, on foot or take the trip there with the world's oldest steamship, the Hjejlen.
AQUA

AQUA Aquarium & Zoo in Silkeborg is a fantastic experience for the whole family. Take yourself out into the Danish nature, gathered in a well-arranged place, where you can get really close to the wild animals in Denmark.
It is Northern Europe's only freshwater aquarium, where you can even eat some of the fish!
Here, in addition to the Danish freshwater fish, there are badgers, wild boar, raccoons, otters, deer, fallow deer, marten, swamp beaver and many more.
Hærvejen "Army road"

Explore the beautiful nature in the Silkeborg area. Follow the Jutland Hærvej – either by car, by bike or on foot.
Hærvejen runs from the border and up to Viborg, and is approx. 280 km. long. Before there was even anything called cars and trains, Jutland's main road ran along the watershed up through the country from the German border to Viborg. Back then, the army road consisted of gravel and potholed roads. Hærvejen was not just one road, but a network of smaller roads, which today is called Hærvejen.
